Thankful

Today, I am extra thankful. I am usually a pretty thankful person, but today, a little more. I have been reading other's blogs about all of their challenges with the health of their kids and am so BLESSED to have a healthy, happy baby. I have prayed all day thanking God, for what I never deserved. Ok. So, on a lighter note, I am slowly, but surely gonna overhaul my blog a little. I changed the background, since Bryce is now nearly 14 months old. The birthday one was probably one of my favs, but it is time to, "let it go mom!" lol. I am gonna post a couple of pics of his party in honor of my healthy baby boy. Enjoy.... they are some random photos.....

HOLY COWCAKE!

We served chili, pigs in the blanket, a veggie garden, and cake and cream. We also had a baby buffet with snacks. Drinks were the "Hug" brand for the kids cause they are shaped like barrels and I served them iced down in barrels. There are WAY more pics and details that I will try to share on a later post. (Kid pics and some more of the deco and what we did). I must go to the shower now, while my little person is catching some ZZZZZZs and safe in his crib. Today, I am THANKFUL! Sleep tight, little angel. Thank you God for your exceedingly abundant blessings and protective hedge that you have around our family. AMEN

"No Flash" photo contest

This week's theme is "No Flash" for I Heart Faces photo contest. This is gonna be one of my favorite weeks to view pics. I love natural light photography. I am learning though. This photo was made just last week. I know that it technically could be ALOT better, but I love what it will always mean to me. Yes, it is grainy cause my ISOs were up, yes he has his morning cereal on his face still (at least that is what I hope it is), yes the light could have caught his eyes better, and on and on I go ripping it apart. The most important thing is that he waiting for his beloved daddy.... He was looking out in that big old world calling for his friend. "Dada, Dada, Dada" in his little singing voice. I hope that he always calls for him and knows that his daddy will always come for him. I love you daddy's little buddy!

Crop Contest

This is my entry for the photo contest this week. The theme is "Creative Crop". Please click on the photo above to see the whole pic. You must always include a face in this contest. This was a hard week for me. I usually do most of my cropping through my viewfinder. lol. This pic is from the holidays (with the tree in the background). Hank's At Our House!

Hank is a sock monkey that we won from our new blogging friend, Mandi Shandi. We won him as part of her giveaway for her 100th blog post. He arrived at our house last week. I am finally posting pics of him. He is adorable. He matches the fabrics in Bryce's room perfectly! Thanks Mandi! Here are the pics of him at his new home. Mandi said that he is a rowdy guy. I would have to agree. He fits in nicely around here....

Our Little Snowman

Yea, that's right! Snow in Alabama! Can you believe it? I guess that you could call it snow. How about just a light "dusting" as my mom would say.... Well, now that EVERY blogger has posted their snow pics and it has been a few boring days of no posting for me, I guess that I should post mine. So here goes....
We woke up that morning to a beautiful snowfall. Bryce's first. So, he and dad watched it while I made breakfast, so we could hurry up and play.


Next, We rolled his highchair close to the window so he could watch it while he ate. Cause you know it takes FOREVER at this age!!!!!


We went outside after breakfast. I COULD NOT find his hat and mittens, because I always put things where they go(NOT), so he had to wear this hat that I had found on clearance for him to wear in a oouple of years. lol My sweet husband made this pic, cause he knows that I (the family photographer)am never in pictures.


He watched the flakes falling, but could not decide if he was scared or loved it.....

We let him try to walk, but he just wanted to get down and crawl in it. After this, we took trip to Wal-Mart (because no day is complete without that) to get Bryce some Cow's milk for him to drink for the first time. He finally ran out of mom's milk.


When we got back, I finally found his mittens and hat that fits. He wanted to eat the mittens, because he had never worn them. Yummy fleece!


Then, back down in the snow to play some more. We didn't attempt a snowman. I guess that I will just have to settle for my two snowmen. AHHH! He wore us out. Time for a nap together and WAFFLES!!!!!

Week 8 - "MESSY FACE"

ANYONE WANNA HELP CLEAN ME UP? Well, this is week 8 on IHEARTFACES photoblog. The theme is "Messy Face". I think that this picture definitely qualifies! I previously posted the one that we used for his party invite, but this one is my contest entry cause he is REALLY messy. I wish that we could post the whole series. He put his foot in it at the beginning, and then by the end, he was picking up gobbs of hay. Those pics didn't really show his face (hence the website name), so we chose one with his face showing. The bath water alone could have qualified for messy. It took a dunking in the water, then a drained and recleaned tub to get it all. Sorry to bore my fellow bloggers who have already seen the other version of this shot. I just couldn't resist entering it in the contest. HE'S ONE!!!!

Oh! But Yes! He is ONE! Today he is Terrible Two! He won't eat breakfast, is fighting his morning nap, doesn't want to leave my hip, and can't make up his mind on ANYTHING! lol He is usually just too easy I guess. I have to remind myself that he is one. This pic is of a cupcake that I bought him for his REAL birthday breakfast that we had with his grandparents. It was fun! Maybe a tradition? It WAS quite possibly the stalest cupcake in the history of baking! Bryce tried to eat it, but wound up painting his highchair with the icing instead! I will have to post some pics of his birthday party and cupcakes. My sweet sister made some of the pics without a flash and the are blurry. I am glad that she did, because I was in the "Party fog". I have lots of ambition for all of this posting that I am gonna do, don't I? Finally, I think that he fell asleep......AAHHHHH, VICTORY! Can you smell that sweet smell of victory?.........or wait, is that his applesauce that he refused to eat? P.S.- I am taking votes on what I should call my photography.
